President Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the efforts of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, towards making the Lekki Deep Sea Port a reality.
President Buhari made this known on Tuesday in Lagos when he inspected the rate of work done at the first Deep Sea Port in Nigeria located in Lagos Free Zone, 65km East of Lagos.
He also directed Amaechi to consult and bring up a memorandum to the Federal Executive Council, to link the facility with the railway network.
In the course of the inspection, the President received firm assurances that the port, which has a concession period of 45 years and sits in a land area of 90 hectares, will be completed on schedule by September.
Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has expressed satisfaction at the progress of work made so far within two weeks of inspecting the Lekki Deep Seaport.
Amaechi, during the visit to the port, said the speed of work was engendered by the knowledge of president Buhari’s intended visit to the site.
He also expressed optimism that work at bonny deep seaport will commence before the end of this administration.
