The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two persons who faked as a Soldier and a Medical Doctor in the State.
The Command in a statement signed by its Police Public Relations Officer, Sp Odiko Macdon, said the arrest of the impersonated soldier was made on November 16, 2021.
He said at about 1am while on a stop and search operation along Nwaniba Road within Uyo Metropolis, operatives of Anti-Robbery Squad suspected and arrested one Akpan Mfon Essien of Ikot Andem Itam Village in Itu Local Government Area who resides at Idu Uruan, Uruan Local Government Area.
On the arrest of the fake Medical Doctor, Police said one Samuel Isaac Jumbo aged 29yrs old of number 26 Asokoro Road, Area Ii, Abuja who claimed to be a Medical Doctor attached to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital was arrested.
The PPRO said the fake medical doctor was arrested on November 30, 2021 at about 11am when the Quick Intervention Unit Operatives of the Command proceeded to a Hotel, in Nung Oku, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area to effect the arrest.
The State Police Command in the statement stressed the two suspects will be charged to Court as soon as investigations are completed.
